Описание

PGVIP устанавливается только на web-сервера, на сервера баз данных ничего устанавливать не нужно.
Дистрибутив представляет собой tar-архив pgvip.tar с исходными кодами, документацией и собранным исполняемым файлом.

Для загрузки из командной строки используется утилита curl:
mkdir /tmp/pgvip ; cd /tmp/pgvip
curl -Os https://pgvip.org/files/download/pgvip.tar

Установка

Для установки небходимо распаковать tar-архив и выполнить make install:
tar -xf pgvip.tar
make install ip_master=[ip_master] ip_standby=[ip_standby] ip_virtual=[ip_virtual] subnet_mask=[subnet_mask]


Сборка необязательна, т.к. исполняемый файл включен в архив и не зависит от версии linux, дополнительные библиотеки не требуются.
При необходимости сборку можно выполнить командой:
make (или gcc -w -std=gnu99 -pthread *.c util/*.c -o pgvip)

/etc/pgsuite/pgvip.conf - файл конфигурации, скопированный командой make install, которая прописывает в него IP адреса. Для изменения параметров необходимо отредактировать файл и перезапустить службу, выполнив systemctl restart pgvip.


Подготовительные работы



Запуск службы

Служба запускается командой:
systemctl --now enable pgvip

Для просмотра состояния и журнала используются команды:
systemctl status pgvip
pgvip status
journalctl -fu pgvip (или tail -f /var/log/pgsuite/pgvip.log)

Текущую run-time конфигурацию c финальными командами можно посмотреть командой:
pgvip show config


Мониторинг

Для настройки мониторинга необходимо определить две команды ОС в конфигурационном файле:
command_monitoring_send-отправка статуса (SUCCESS, STANDBY_LAG, STANDBY_PROMOTED или ERROR) в систему мониторинга
command_monitoring_notify-оповещение при изменении статуса

В командах используется переменная подстановки ${status}
